25th ANNIVERSARY



Giving God all the praise and all the glory for the 25th Anniversary and all the friends, exciting adventures, and scenic wonders in Utah! God blessed us with two thrilling hikes!



















SUNDANCE 
MANDAN SHORT LOOP
Stewart Falls trail from Sundance is closed due snow at the base of the falls, and the dangerous conditions. The forested trail, has many scenic overlooks. Returning to the chair lift, we enjoyed gliding down the mountain.
RATINGS: Newbies 
MILEAGE: 1 mile
LIFT FEE: Check SUNDANCE for current prices
KID FRIENDLY
HIKE TIME: 40 minutes
RESTROOMS available
NO DOGS allowed on the chairlift
PARKING is limited at Sundance, so please carpool.




ASPEN GROVE to STEWART FALLS
What a great day to be outdoors with Jesus! We saw lots of children hiking on the trail today. It was fun climbing over fallen logs and walking on snow. The falls was exploding with all the Spring runoff.





      RATINGS: Moderate
      MILEAGE: 1.75 miles each way
      HIKE TIME: 2 1/2 hours
      KID FRIENDLY ~ Steep exposure by the falls
      DOGS are allowed on this trail
      FEE: Alpine Loop Fee: (3 day pass $6) or use your National Federal Rec Pass with a mirror hanger.

Mystery Tour ~ Mountain Biking

Excellent weather! God gave us a cool, sunny day to enjoy. Wonderful wildflowers mixed with the scrub oaks. Today was a big relay race in Park City.






  • DESCRIPTION: We started at the Rail Trail parking in park city, parking lot G. We rode to Quinns trailhead, and up the back side of the Round Valley area. We climbed to the top of the hill and rode down to the ball park and returned to our vehicles.

  • RATINGS: Moderate technical

  • MILEAGE: 11 miles

  • RESTROOMS: Available at the ball park.

  • GEAR: Water, energy snacks, helmet, pump, extra tube, and flat repair tools. BIKE TIME: 2 1/2 hours (stop & go)

  • DIRECTIONS: From SLC take I-80 up Parley's Canyon, exit and turn right at Kimball Junction driving toward Park City, hang a left on Kearns Blvd, then turn right on Bonanza Blvd, make an immediate left on Prospector Ave, drive past the strip mall and park in lot G, by the Rail Trail sign.

Jordan River Parkway

Jesus blessed us with a great Sunday afternoon ride. Spring run-off has closed the trail at 7800 South & 4500 South. New wetlands are being created, by flooding fields. Pelicans, ducks and birds love it!



WINCHESTER PARK: 4500 South/7800 South Loop


  • DESCRIPTION: The parkway is a paved trail, beside the Jordan River. There are bridges, boardwalks, underpasses, parks, and sections with multiple trails. There's even benches to sit on.

  • TRAILHEAD: Winchester Park, Winchester St. (6670 S.) and Murray Bluffs Road (1200 West), Murray Utah.

  • RESTROOMS available at the parks.

  • RATINGS: NEWBIES

  • MILEAGE: 11.3 miles total

  • RIDE TIME: 1 1/2 hours

  • GEAR: Helmet, water, pump, bike tools, camera, and snacks.

Waterfall Canyon

Beautiful cool, sunny morning in the foothills of Ogden. God blessed us with wholesome fellowship, and a roaring waterfall.













  • DESCRIPTION: Go up to the Bonneville Shoreline trail, turn left, this will take you around the scenic way. We stopped at a spring, then hiked up to an overlook. Then we entered into Waterfall Canyon. A hiking pole will help you through some of the rocky areas. You'll enjoy hiking by a stream.

  • RATINGS: MODERATE

  • MILEAGE: 2 miles up the long way, 1.4 miles down the short trail.

  • ELEVATION GAIN: 900'

  • KIDS love this hike, but must be supervised.

  • HIKE TIME: Allow 4 hours to enjoy the hike and falls.

  • RESTROOMS: flush restrooms at the trailhead

  • DIRECTIONS: Take Harrison Blvd in Ogden, drive up 30th Street, and find your way over to 29th Street. At the foothills you'll find the trailhead parking.

  • GEAR: Don't leave garbage at the falls...pack it out! Bring plenty of water, energy snacks, sack lunch, hiking pole, sunscreen, jacket, first aid, and camera.

Union Pacific Rail Trail

Weathermen predicted rain showers; but God gave us a partly sunny day. A window of blue sky followed us. Today we saw deer, lamas, cows, horses, dogs, and goats. And we even saw an owl.




WANSHIP to SOUTH ECHO CAMPGROUND LOOP


  • DESCRIPTION: A dirt/gravel double track following the old Union Pacific Rail line. There is a paved section in Coalville, running from the highway exit to the beginning of Echo Reservoir.

  • RATINGS: Moderate

  • BIKE TIME: 3 1/2 hours

  • MILEAGE: 9.5 miles each way

  • RESTROOMS: At Wanship and Coalville

  • GEAR: Water, sunscreen, jacket, camera, extra tube, thorn liner, flat repair tools, helmet, and pump.

  • DIRECTIONS: From Salt Lake City, drive up Parley's Canyon on I-80. Keep driving east, past Park City. Take the Wanship exit, and turn left. Drive all the way through town. The Rail Trail parking lot is paved with a restroom and is near the old Spring Chicken Inn.

BIG BEACON

God gave us an exciting day, with wildflowers, sunshine, great fellowship, and a little rain. It was fun climbing to the summit of Wire Mountain.












  • DESCRIPTION: From the Red Butte - Bonneville Shoreline trail, we went to up the main trail, by Georges Hollow. 1 mile up, there is a fork in the trail. If you go left it will take you to the Living Room. If you go straight this will lead you to the summit.

  • TRAILHEAD: On Colorow Drive, near Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, Utah

  • RATINGS: Intermediate

  • MILEAGE: 2.14 miles to the summit

  • ELEVATION: 2,140' gain

  • HIKING TIME: 4 hours

  • DOG allowed on leash

  • GEAR: Water, jacket, sack lunch, hiking pole, first aid, camera, sunscreen, and hat. Bring at least 3 bottles of water, or a Camelback.

LEGACY PARKWAY











Riding a bicycle on the Legacy Parkway is a wonderful way to enjoy a Spring Day. God blessed us with an enjoyable day and wonderful fellowship!



  • DESCRIPTION: Legacy Parkway is a two lane paved parkway trail, connecting with the Jordan River Parkway in North Salt Lake, and ending at Frontrunner's Farmington Station.

  • RESTROOM: A port-a-potty is available at the Center Street trailhead. A new park at 2 1/2 miles will have restrooms too. And at Farmington, a new Harmons and shopping center is being built.

  • RATINGS: Moderate,

  • ELEVATION: 60' e.g.

  • BIKE TIME: 2 to 3 hours on mountain bikes

  • MILEAGE: 23 miles round trip

  • TRAILHEAD: Center Street trailhead is west of Foxboro Drive 1100 North, & Center Street in North Salt Lake. A few blocks west of Marerik Country Store on Center St. and Redwood Road.

  • KID FRIENDLY No busy roads to cross.

  • GEAR: There's no water on the trail. Pack water, jacket, snacks, helmet, gloves, pump, sunscreen, tools, extra tube, & flat repair stuff.
