Ensign Peak

Jesus blessed us with a great afternoon. We enjoyed Spring like weather...sunny with a cool breeze. And it was a great place to pray for the people living in Salt Lake City.

Ensign Peak is a great place to take pictures of the valley.

We saw a group of mountain bikers go down the face of the hill to the bottom.

DESCRIPTION: An enjoyable hike by the avenues. The trail starts at Ensign Park. On the way down, we enjoyed took a side trail to a lower overlook.
RATINGS: Newbies
MILEAGE: 1 mile round trip, 398' elevation gain.
KID FRIENDLY: Children love this trail.
DOGS are allowed.
NO RESTROOMS are available
DIRECTIONS:

  • Take State Street north to the Utah State Capitol,
  • turn right and follow East Capitol Blvd. to the gated community,
  • turn left at Ensign Vista Drive, and
  • look for Ensign Park on the right side and find a place to park.

GEAR: Bring water, energy snacks, camera and hiking pole.
