WILLOW LAKE LOOP

WILLOW HEIGHTS TRAIL


DESCRIPTION: WE HIKED UP THE NEW TRAIL, WENT AROUND THE LAKE COUNTER CLOCKWISE AND RETURNED ON THE STEEP OLD TRAIL.
RATINGS: NEWBIES 
MILEAGE: 2.4 MILES
HIKE TIME: 2 HOURS 
NO DOGS ALLOWED IN BIG COTTONWOOD
NO RESTROOMS AVAILABLE
DRIVE UP 11.6 MILES UP BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON AND PARK ON THE SIDES OF THE ROAD

BOWMAN OVERLOOK

MILLCREEK CANYON HIKES


MILEAGE: 2.2 miles from Terrace Picnic trailhead to Bowman Overlook.
RATINGS: Moderate Plus (few steep sections)
ELEVATION GAIN: 1,300' 
HIKE TIME: Allow 3 hours for fun.
DOGS on leash on even days, and allowed off leash on odd days.   You must clean up after your dogs.
GEAR: Water, energy snacks, hiking pole, camera.
DIRECTIONS: Enter Millcreek Canyon at 3800 S. Wasatch Blvd.  Drive up 4.3 miles and find a parking place near the road to the Terrace Picnic area.  Hike up the road to the trailhead.
CELL PHONE service is bad in Millcreek Canyon.
CANYON FEE: $3 per vehicle ($2 senior rate) leaving canyon.

MT WOLVERINE ~ ALTA

CATHERINE PASS PARKING and TRAILHEAD

You'll have to pay a $6 at the ALTA toll booth and 
drive up the dirt road to the parking area.

MOUNT WOLVERINE

RATINGS: INTERMEDIATE
MILEAGE: 1.7 MILES TO THE PEAK
ELEVATION GAIN: 1,400'
HIKE TIME: ALLOW 4 HOURS FOR FUN
GEAR: Water, Jacket, hiking pole, camera, and food.



AT CATHERINE PASS,  THE TRAIL TO THE NORTH WILL TAKE YOU TO MT WOLVERINE AND THE SOUTH TRAIL GOES UP TO SUNSET PEAK.

CALIFORNIA TRAIL

LITTLE DELL CANYON ~ SECTIONS 2 and 3

We didn't hike Section 1, which begins at Little Dell Reservoir.  This section is 2 miles, 450' elevation gain and ends at a small parking area and restroom.  This is where we parked and began our hike for Sections 2 and 3.
The trail begins on the west side of the road. (SR 65)

MILEAGE: 4 MILES TO THE UPPER PARKING LOT
ELEVATION GAIN: 1,550'
HIKE TIME UP: 1 3/4 hours
HIKE TIME DOWN: 1 1/3 hours
RESTROOMS AVAILABLE
NO DOGS ALLOWED IN LITTLE DELL CANYON

This is the historic Donner - Reed Trail; later used by the Pioneers and Pony Express riders.
