SNOWSHOEING Mill D South Fork

God gave us a fun time, great fellowship, and many adventures...climbing hills, falling down, making snow angels, and eating snacks on a snow covered picnic table. It was wonderful to breathe clean air!

DESCRIPTION: Put your snowshoes on at the Mill D South Fork gate. Walk up the road and climb up to the sledding hill. From there make your own trail into the forest to the Jordan Pines Campground winter area. We followed the telephone pole trail to the hill and down to the Spruces Campground where we made a loop. After returning to our cars.
DIRECTIONS: Big Cottonwood Canyon begins at Wasatch Blvd. and Fort Union Blvd. (70th South). Drive up to the Mill D area and park.
RESTROOMS: available at the winter camping areas, Jordan Pines & Spruces Campground. Other restrooms are locked for the winter season.
GEAR: Wear layers, hat, insulated gloves, snow boots, wool socks, hand warmers, bring water, and have energy snacks. Cotton clothing when wet, is worthless.
NO DOGS ALLOWED: Big Cottonwood is a protected watershed area.
