We stopped at the highest overlook around Lake Mary. Not very many people on the trail, and we had the place all to ourselves.
Looking at the lake below, we saw people in the water putting up a yellow slackline between the rock island and rock on the shore.
Ron stood on a rock near the ledge, turning he lost his balance and was beginning to fall.
Several of us were standing close to him, but out of arm's reach and unable to grab him in that split second.
One foot was off the ground and he was leaning back, ready to fall backwards on granite rocks below breaking bones.
Suddenly out of nowhere a trail runner comes flying down the trail and grabs his arm, pulling him back to safety. Seconds later the mystery man ran down the trail before we could thank him.
Either God sent a trail runner at that precise second or the Lord sent an angel that saved Ron from falling backward off an overlook.
We believe it was an angel that rescued him.
ALWAYS PRAY FOR GOD'S PROTECTION
