ROCKY MOUTH FALLS

SHORT GATED TRAIL TO A BEAUTIFUL FALLS



Description:  This is a great trail for kids and beginners.  The parking lot on Wasatch is small, so it's good to carpool.   The trail begins climbing some stairs and through a neighborhood.  There is a gated entrance that opens 9am, Monday through Saturday.  (Closed Sundays)   The gate closes in the evening at different times.


Ratings: Newbies
Mileage: Less than 1 mile total
Hike time: Allow 1 hour for fun
Elevation gain: 280'
No dogs allowed
No restrooms
Trailhead parking location: 11200 Wasatch Blvd, Sandy, UT

HUGHES CANYON FALLS

DESCRIPTION:  Enjoy a climb up Hughes Canyon to a beautiful falls. 


RATINGS: MODERATE with some steep sections
ELEVATION GAIN:  1040'
MILEAGE: 2 miles round trip
HIKE TIME: Allow 3 hours



TRAILHEAD: Park on Wasatch Blvd. and Canyon Cove Drive, Holladay, Utah



DIRECTION:  Access is through private neighborhood.
Walk up Canyon Cove Drive, turn left on the second street, Oak Canyon Drive where you'll find the access driveway to the trail.



GEAR: Water, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, hiking pole, etc.
NO RESTROOM AVAILABLE

NDOP MYSTERY HIKE

We enjoyed the National Day of Prayer overlooking the Salt Lake Valley.    The mystery hike was 2.6 miles, with cars parked at the beginning and ending trailheads.   The hike took 3 hours, because we stopped and prayed.

GEORGES HOLLOW
HIKE up to the Bonneville Shoreline trail & turn right heading south, after a hill, turn left up a road towards the mountains,
once on the upper Shoreline trail turn right heading south,
take the trail up to the summit, on the south side of Georges Hollow, almost 1/2 way up there is a fork in the trail,
turn left for the "Living Room" or continue straight for the trail to the Big Beacon, Wire Mountain.

MILEAGE: 5 miles total
HIKE TIME: 3 3/4 hours

MT VAN COTT

Another great adventure

DESCRIPTION:  If you are tired of hiking to the Living Room, then you might want to hike to Mount Van Cott and enjoy the views.   There are several different ways to approach the peak.  We began at the parking lot by the gate to Red Butte Canyon Road.   Walk up the road .3 miles, and find the trail that climbs to the top.  At the first junction, keep right.  Stay on the main trail and avoid
scrambling up short cuts.

MILEAGE: 3 1/2 miles
ELEVATION GAIN: 1300'
HIKE TIME: 1 hour 20 minutes up, 1 hour back.
GEAR: Hiking pole, water, snacks, jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and camera.
