TWIN PEAKS AVENUES

DESCRIPTION:   Twin Peaks is our favorite hike in the foothills of the Avenues, overlooking the Salt Lake Valley.   There are many jeep roads and trails to choose from, from City Creek Canyon to the U on the mountain.    We choose the "Bobsled" trailhead, located from N. Bonneville Drive, SLC, Utah.   The Bobsled is used by mountain bikers as a downhill trail.   Begin at the gate.   Follow the main trail around the first bend were you'll find a fork in the trail.  The main trail to the left is the Bobsled trail.  Take the small trail to the right.   You'll follow this jeep road all the way to the ridge, behind Twin Peaks.    After enjoying the summit, go down the face of the hill to the Bonneville Shoreline trail.   Follow the jeep road back down to your vehicle.
HIKE TIME: Allow 3 hours
MILEAGE: 1.6 miles to the summit
ELEVATION GAIN: 1150'
RATINGS: Intermediate
NO RESTROOMS
DOGS: leashed and you'll need clean up bags.
DIRECTIONS:  Google Map: "N. Bonneville Drive, Perry's Hollow Road, SLC, UT"
GEAR: Water, hat, hiking poles, snacks, camera, and jacket.
