We saw two moose hidding by fir trees, by the parking lot on Prospector Ave this morning. God blessed us with a fun mountain bike ride today.
DESCRIPTION: Began on the Rail Trail, and went to Round Valley. The tunnel under SR 248 is under construction, so you'll need to cross the busy road on top, to connect to the Park City Parkway. Some trails we rode are THE RAMBLER, RAMBLE ON, SEVENTY 101, VALDERROAD, NO WHERE ELKS, and return on the COVE, and down to PARK CITY PARKWAY.
RATINGS: Moderate/Intermediate technical
RIDE TIME: 2 hours
GEAR: Water, helmet, pump, extra tube, first aid, flat tire tools, sunscreen, glasses, and energy snacks.

SALT LAKE OVERLOOK
Summer is finally here. This morning we had a bagel and enjoyed a wonderful hike up the Desolation Trail to Salt Lake Overlook. God created a beautiful canyon.
DESCRIPTION: Take the Desolation trail. At the fork, take the trail to the right and not the Thaynes Canyon trail. You'll enjoy switchbacks, lush forest and views of Millcreek Canyon.
TRAILHEAD: After passing the Millcreek Inn, turn right into the picnic area.
RATINGS: Moderate
MILEAGE: 2 miles to the overlook
ELEVATION GAIN: 1250'
HIKE TIME: 2 to 3 hours
RESTROOM at trailhead.
DOGS on even days must be on leash.
FEE: Millcreek Canyon fee $3 per vehicle
DIRECTIONS: 3800 S. Wasatch Blvd, SLC, UT
Drive up the canyon 3 miles to trailhead.

BIG COTTONWOOD OVERLOOK
We had a wonderful hike on National Get Outdoors Day.
DESCRIPTION: Hike up the trail 1 1/2 miles, you'll see a side trail to a rocky overlook. Be careful of the steep exposure. This is a great place to view sunsets.
WATERSHED AREA: No dogs allowed. No washing, and no wading in streams or lakes.
TRAILHEAD: MILL B NORTHFORK, on the north side of road at the S Curve in Big Cottonwood Canyon.
HIKE TIME: 40 minutes to the Overlook and 30 minutes return.
MILEAGE: 1 1/2 mile est. to overlook
RATINGS: MODERATE
GEAR: Water, bug spray, hiking pole, camera, first aid, and energy food.

WATERFALL CANYON
God gave us a great day to hike to Waterfall Canyon. It was great seeing Ogden Valley, wildflowers, and a bubbling stream. This was a great hike to celebration National Trails Day.
DESCRIPTION: We hiked up to the Bonneville Shoreline trail, turned left and went on the scenic trail. We descended on the Pond Trail, and looped back to Waterfall Canyon.
There are great views of Ogden on this trail.
RATINGS: Moderate
MILEAGE: 2 miles up, 1.4 miles down
ELEVATION GAIN: 900'
TRAILHEAD: Top of 29th Street in Ogden, Utah
DIRECTIONS from SLC:
Drive north on I-15, take US 89 at Farmington, turn right on Harrison Blvd, turn right on 30th Street in Ogden, find your way over to 29th Street and drive to the foothills. The trailhead parking lot is on the right.
There are great views of Ogden on this trail.
