MT VAN COTT

Another great adventure
Outdoors with Jesus

DESCRIPTION:  If you are tired of hiking to the Living Room, then you might want to hike to Mount Van Cott and enjoy the views.   There are several different ways to approach the peak.  We began at the parking lot by the gate to Red Butte Canyon Road.   Walk up the road .3 miles, and find the trail that climbs to the top.  At the first junction, keep right.  Stay on the main trail and avoid
scrambling up short cuts.

MILEAGE: 3 1/2 miles
ELEVATION GAIN: 1300'
HIKE TIME: 1 hour 20 minutes up, 1 hour back.
GEAR: Hiking pole, water, snacks, jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and camera.
