WASATCH WILDFLOWER FESTIVAL and CECRET LAKE











A Great Day in 
God's Mountains!

The Wasatch Wildflower Festival in Alta was wonderful!   They offer three levels of free wildflower hikes:  Beginner, Intermediate, and Advance.   This is a wonderful event for the entire family.  We took the intermediate hike up to the meadow.  Some of the group went to Cecret Lake after it ended.

RATINGS:  Moderate 
MILEAGE: 2.3 miles each way
ELEVATION GAIN: 1300'
HIKE TIME: Allow 3 hours for Wildflower tour and Cecret Lake Hike
WATERSHED: No swimming in lakes and no wading in streams.  No dogs allowed.
DIRECTIONS:  Enter Little Cottonwood Canyon, 4323 Little Cottonwood Road, Sandy, Utah drive up to the top of the paved road in Alta.
RESTROOMS: available at parking area and near the campground.

SNAKE CREEK PASS







DESCRIPTION: Begin you hike at the
Lake Mary trail in Brighton.  Take the Dog Lake junction and the Clayton Peak trail.  When you come to the saddle, you're at the overlook.
RATINGS: Moderate
MILEAGE: 2 miles to the pass
ELEVATION GAIN: 1310'
WATERSHED: no dogs allowed
GEAR: Water, snacks, bug spray, camera, and hiking pole.
CELL PHONE coverage is good.
DIRECTIONS:  Drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Brighton and park in the large lot.
RESTROOMS available at Silver Lake building.

Choice of a low-key ride for Kids and casual riders,
paved and gravel parkway trails for energetic bikers, or
tour of Park City on road bicycles.   Enjoy a great BBQ.

SMITH and MOREHOUSE

TRAIL 001
DESCRIPTION:  Smith and Morehouse is a beautiful reservoir tucked away in Weber Canyon.   The reservoir offers a place for canoes, fishing boats, and kayaks.  There are two campgrounds, ATV roads, and a wonderful hiking trail.


FISHING





BOAT FEE: $8
HIKE: Trail 001 Smith Morehouse is located in the south campground.   We hiked several hours and turned back.
RATINGS: Moderate
DIRECTIONS: From Oakley, Utah take the Weber Canyon Road.   At the road junction, follow signs and turn right.
