FRARY PEAK

DIRECTION:  Get a map of the Island at the entrance booth and drive to the trailhead.  Take the road to Garr Ranch,  look for the Frary Peak road to the right.
RATINGS: INTERMEDIATE PLUS
MILEAGE: 3.3 miles to the summit
ELEVATION GAIN: 2,100'
HIKE TIME:  Allow 5 hours
FEE: $10 per vehicle (seniors $5)
RESTROOM:  No restroom at the trailhead

Use the restroom near the entrance booth.
CELL PHONE coverage is good.
NO DOGS allowed on the trail.
DIRECTIONS:  From SLC take I -15 north,
take exit 332 Antelope Drive and turn left, 
keep driving straight till you reach Antelope Island State Park.



God blessed us with views of the Great Salt Lake.

SALT LAKE OVERLOOK

DESCRIPTION:  Take the Desolation trail up to Salt Lake Overlook; then going back take a short cut down the Thaynes Canyon trail.
TRAILHEAD:  After passing the Millcreek Inn, turn right into the picnic area.
RATINGS: Moderate
MILEAGE: 2 miles to the overlook

WILDERNESS:  No mountain bikes allowed.
ELEVATION GAIN: 1250'
HIKE TIME:  2 1/2 hours
RESTROOM at trailhead.
DOGS on even days must be on leash. 
FEE:  Millcreek Canyon fee $3 per vehicle
DIRECTIONS:  3800 S. Wasatch Blvd, SLC, UT
Drive up the canyon 3 miles to trailhead

AUTUMN IN ADAMS CANYON

DESCRIPTION:  Adams Canyon trail is a fun playground for hikers.
RATINGS: MODERATE PLUS
ELEVATION GAIN: 1,212'
HIKE TIME: 3 1/2 hours
DEPARTING: 10am

MILEAGE: 3.9 miles round trip

NO RESTROOMS available

DIRECTIONS from SLC take I-15 north, (45 minute drive)
after passing the Lagoon exit, take exit 324 ~ US 89 North,
when you pass through OAK HILLS DRIVE,
turn right at the next street,
turn right again, drive south on East Side Drive to a dirt parking lot, east of the Oak Hills Intersection.
DIRECTIONS from Ogden
take US 89 south toward Farmington,
after passing mile marker 402,
turn left at the next street,
turn right and drive south on East Side Drive to a dirt parking lot, east of the Oak Hills Dr. Intersection.

RAIL TRAIL ~ WANSHIP TO COALVILLE LOOP



ENJOYING ANOTHER DAY WITH THE LORD!





DESCRIPTION:  The Rail Trail is a great place to ride your mountain bike, if you are looking to build up endurance.   The trail from Wanship to Coalville is almost level, and is easy for all levels of riders.   There is usually a head wind from Coalville to Wanship.
RATINGS: Moderate on dirt and gravel trail.
MILEAGE: 7 miles each way.
DEPARTURE: 11:15am
RESTROOMS at trailheads.
GEAR: Helmet, pump, flat repair kit, extra tube, water, snacks, and sun protection. We highly recommend thorn liners.
RIDE TIME: 2 to 3 hours.
DIRECTIONS: Take I-80 east, take the Wanship exit, turn left and drive all the way
through town until you see a paved parking lot with restroom.  
There is road construction, look for the flagman to exit at Wanship.

WILLOW LAKE

WILLOW LAKE
WILLOW HEIGHTS TRAILHEAD
WONDERFUL WAY TO SPEND SUNDAY AFTERNOON WITH THE LORD

DESCRIPTION:  The Willow Heights Trail is great for Sunday and evening hikes when you are short for time.   The trail begins with a steep climb, but levels out.  We took the trail counter-clockwise around the lake.  
RATINGS: NEWBIES
MILEAGE: 2.15 total circling the lake.
ELEVATION GAIN:  600'
RESTROOM:  Use the restroom at Mill D South Fork when driving up the canyon.
NO DOGS ALLOWED IN BIG COTTONWOOD WATERSHED







DIRECTIONS:  Enter Big Cottonwood Canyon at Fort Union Blvd. and Wasatch Blvd; SLC, Utah.   Drive 12.1 miles up and park on the side of the road.   Look for the stone trail marker on the north side of the road.

BEAR TRAP FORK

WASATCH CREST TRAIL AND DESOLATION LAKE

BEAR TRAP FORK TRAILHEAD
ON THE RIDGE










DESCRIPTION:  God gave us a wonderful blue sky day.  Bear Trap Fork is a great place to hike if you want to escape the crowds.
There are no signs at the trail head, just a forest road gate.   The trail climbs up to the Wasatch Crest trail, where you can see great views of Desolation Lake.
RATINGS: Intermediate (not recommended for kids or beginners.)
MILEAGE:  2.27 miles to the Wasatch Crest trail
ELEVATION GAIN:  2,090'
HIKE TIME:  Allow 4 hours and 20 minutes for this adventure.
WATERSHED: No dogs allowed in Big Cottonwood Canyon.
RESTROOM:  None at the trailhead.   Use the restroom at Mill D South Fork.
DIRECTIONS:  Big Cottonwood Canyon begins at Wasatch Blvd and Fort Union Blvd. in SLC, Utah.   Drive 10.6 miles up the road.   Park by the Pine Tree Village,  "Big Cottonwood Canyon Road 6260 South, and Rivers End Road 10905 East."   
Look for the forest road gate, trailhead on the north side of the road.
